UK Catholic Newman Center Activities


TUESDAYS starting JAN. 8 - 5:30PM the first Tuesday weekday mass of the semester.  Join our pastor Father Tom for this great way to welcome back the semester and get connected with others.

THURSDAYS starting Jan. 10 1:00 to 7:00 PM EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT in the chapel.  Come for some quiet prayer in the Eucharistic Chapel. 

SATURDAY JAN. 12 - RED RIVER GORGE CLEAN UP SERVICE DAY.  Join Kevin Steele and the Red River Gorge Trail Crew for a day helping in this beautiful wilderness area.  CONTACT me by THURSDAY 5:00PM. 

RETREAT - Feb. 1-2, 2008 Camp Andrew Jackson in the Daniel Boone National Forest.  This is an overnight trip led by UK students with prayer and reflection, faith sharing, fun and recreation.

INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL
Next Tuesday Jan. 15 UK 5-5 team basketball signups are due.  Email back if you would like to play and indicate evening times to avoid for scheduling.  We will have women's and men's teams.

ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK TRIPS
Interested in doing something meaningful this spring break?  Join a Newman trip working on building houses on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and other locations, and helping with home repair in Eastern Kentucky.  Contact me for an application.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A EUCHARISTIC MINISTER? Every semester students are invited to consider serving at Mass as a minister of communion.  You don't get scheduled, you check the needs at the Mass you attend when you arrive.  Contact me for training.
